About

Amanda studied for a BA at Goldsmiths College London and followed with an MA at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, now the University of the Arts, London. Inspired by the natural world and Impressionist painters such as Monet, Renoir and Pissarro, colour, light and brushwork shape her work, with a strong desire to represent the vivid colours and patterns found in nature.

Amanda now lives in Oxfordshire and takes inspiration from surrounding landscapes, her starting point is often the unique colours of the seasons, or the seascapes and landscapes of the Hebrides. ‘My inspiration is colour and light and representing the beauty in nature. Smells and sounds also come into my art, driving a passion for all things natural and deeply meaningful. I hope to create a sense of a place or a particular event, such as the first signs of summer on a country walk, or a windswept Scottish coastline'.
